Summary

Chile's Decree No. 1 of 2015, issued by the Secretaría General de Gobierno under the authority of Ley 20.422 of 2010, establishes a mandatory Web Accessibility Standard for all state bodies ('órganos del Estado'). The decree requires government websites to conform to WCAG 2.0 Level AA as a minimum. Ley 20.422, the underlying statute, establishes equal opportunities and social inclusion for persons with disabilities and mandates that public bodies ensure accessible electronic information and services. The decree operationalises this mandate for the web channel.
