Summary

Nevada enacted four AI-related laws during its 2025 legislative session (83rd Legislature), none of which directly regulates AI crawlers, training-data use, or general automated decision-making on websites. The enacted laws are narrow and criminal in nature: a ban on AI providing mental or behavioral healthcare (AB 406, effective July 1, 2025); an expansion of child-exploitation statutes to cover AI-generated material (SB 263, effective October 1, 2025); an extension of nonconsensual-intimate-image law to AI-generated deepfakes (SB 213, signed June 2025); and a disclosure requirement for AI-generated content in paid political communications (AB 73, effective January 1, 2026). A broader AI-regulation bill (SB 199, covering AI company registration, bias prevention, and consumer-data consent) died in committee, and a bill restricting AI in health-insurance prior-authorization decisions (SB 128) was vetoed by Governor Lombardo. Nevada has no enacted AI disclosure law for general consumer chatbots, no automated-decision accountability framework, and no AI-training or crawler-specific law; general consumer-protection law under Nevada Revised Statutes Chapter 598 (deceptive trade practices) and the Nevada Privacy of Information Collected on the Internet from Consumers Act may apply to deceptive or undisclosed automated interactions.
