Notes

Antigua and Barbuda's local government framework is limited to the Barbuda Council, established under the Barbuda Local Government Act. Antigua itself has no separate municipal authorities — local affairs are administered by central government ministries. Council meetings are open to the public by custom and statute. Antigua and Barbuda's Freedom of Information Act 2004 covers meeting records. The 2023 dispute over the status of Barbuda Council land has highlighted the legal position of the council.
