Notes

Guyana's Municipal and District Councils Act (Cap. 28:01) and the 1980 Local Democratic Organs Act establish the framework for municipal councils, Neighbourhood Democratic Councils (NDCs), and Regional Democratic Councils (RDCs). Council meetings are required to be public. The Access to Information Act 2011 covers meeting records. The Ministry of Local Government and Regional Development supervises compliance.
