Summary
The Commissioner for Public Complaints is the ombudsman function of the State Comptroller's Office. Per Basic Law: The State Comptroller s. 1(b) and Part II, the State Comptroller also serves as the Commissioner for Public Complaints. Citizens may file complaints about administrative injustice, abuse of power, or maladministration by government bodies. This function has a distinct statutory basis within the Basic Law (Part II) and a separate operational mandate from the audit function.
