Summary

The Integrity and Anti-Corruption Commission (JIACC) was established by Law No. 13 of 2016, replacing the earlier Anti-Corruption Commission Law No. 62 of 2006. The Commission President and members are appointed by Royal Decree on the recommendation of the Prime Minister for four-year renewable terms. JIACC is responsible for investigating corruption and integrity violations by public officials, managing the asset declaration system for public servants, and coordinating Jordan's national anti-corruption strategy. It has powers to compel witnesses and obtain records. Criminal matters are referred to the Public Prosecution. JIACC publishes annual reports on its activities and submits them to the Prime Minister. Jordan ratified the UNCAC in 2005 and JIACC serves as the national coordination body.
