Summary
The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) is Nepal's constitutional anti-corruption body, established under Articles 238-240 of the Constitution of Nepal (2015) and the CIAA Act, 2048 BS (1991). The Chief Commissioner is recommended by the Constitutional Council and appointed by the President for a 6-year term or until age 65, whichever is earlier; removal requires the same process as for a Supreme Court justice. The CIAA investigates abuse of authority and corruption by public officials and files cases before the Special Court. The Commission has powers to require the production of documents, evidence, and statements from any person.

Jurisdiction scope
All persons holding public office under the Government of Nepal (excluding the President, Prime Minister in specified matters, and elected members of Parliament for parliamentary conduct); investigates abuse of authority and corruption; may file cases at the Special Court.
