Office of the Ombudsman of Thailand
Summary
The Office of the Ombudsman of Thailand is established under the Organic Act on Ombudsman B.E. 2560 (2017) and Sections 230-231 of the Constitution of Thailand (2017). Ombudsmen (up to three) are selected by a Selection Committee, recommended by the Senate, and appointed by the King for a single 7-year term; removal requires Senate address for cause. The Ombudsman investigates complaints by members of the public about unjust administrative acts, may request documents from state agencies, and may refer constitutional questions to the Constitutional Court. Annual reports are submitted to the National Assembly and published.

Jurisdiction scope
All state agencies, state enterprises, and local government organisations; investigates complaints of unjust administrative acts, proposes good governance recommendations, and may refer cases to relevant agencies or to the Constitutional Court.
