Summary

Created by HB22-1063 and extended through September 1, 2033 by HB24-1054, this six-member all-legislator committee oversees the development and adoption of statewide jail standards under C.R.S. §2-3-1901. Beginning July 1, 2026, all Colorado county jails must comply with standards adopted by the committee. Compliance assessments are conducted by the Attorney General in conjunction with a peer-assessor advisory committee.
