Anti-Corruption Committee of the Republic of Armenia
ACC
Summary
The Anti-Corruption Committee (ACC), established by law in 2021 and formally operational from 2021, is Armenia's dedicated anti-corruption investigative body. It investigates corruption crimes — including bribery, abuse of office, and illicit enrichment — committed by any public official, which includes police officers and penitentiary staff. The ACC replaced the Special Investigative Service and combines investigative and operational-search functions. Its chairperson is selected via a competition council and appointed by the Government; the ACC submits annual reports to the Government and National Assembly. It does not itself impose discipline on LE agencies but refers cases to the prosecutor for criminal prosecution.
