Комисия за противодействие на корупцията
КПК
Summary
The КПК (Commission for Anti-Corruption) was established by the Law on Counteracting Corruption (SG No. 84/2023), which split the former CACIAF into two bodies. Three members were elected by two-thirds majority of the National Assembly for six-year terms. For the first time in Bulgaria, the commission employed statutory investigative inspectors empowered to conduct operational investigations of public officials — including police officers — for corruption and conflict of interest. The commission could not impose discipline directly; findings were referred to the prosecutor's office. It was abolished by Parliament on 28 January 2026; investigative functions passed to the General Directorate for Combating Organized Crime (GDBOP) within the Ministry of Interior.
