Summary
The Ombudsperson of British Columbia is an Officer of the Legislature appointed by the Lieutenant Governor in Council on the recommendation of a special all-party committee of the Legislative Assembly. The Ombudsperson investigates complaints about the administrative conduct of provincial ministries, local governments, health authorities, and other public bodies. The office has full investigative powers including examination of witnesses.
