The Tamil Nadu Lokayukta is established under the Tamil Nadu Lokayukta Act, 2018, enacted on 13 July 2018 and effective from 13 November 2018. Tamil Nadu was among the later states to establish a Lokayukta. The first five-member body was constituted in April 2019 and is operational.
