Disziplinargericht für Landesbedienstete

Disziplinargericht

48/100

Summary

The Disziplinargericht für Landesbedienstete (Disciplinary Court for Civil Servants) is established under the Staatspersonalgesetz (StPG, LGBl. 2008 Nr. 144) as the statutory disciplinary tribunal for all Liechtenstein state employees, including the sworn members of the Landespolizei and prison staff. It adjudicates duty violations and may impose binding sanctions — including reprimand, salary reduction, and dismissal — without any veto by the employing agency. The court has full access to personnel files and evidence in disciplinary proceedings. It is not a civilian review board; composition is not restricted to civilians and no civilian-majority requirement exists. The Disziplinargericht is not an independent investigator of use-of-force incidents — cases are referred to it by supervisory authorities or the prosecutor after preliminary investigation.
