Summary

The Државна комисија за спречување корупција (State Commission for Prevention of Corruption, DKSK) is an autonomous anti-corruption body established by the Law on Prevention of Corruption and Conflict of Interests (OG No. 12/2019, replacing Law 28/2002). Composed of a President and six members elected by the Assembly for five-year terms, it oversees integrity and conflict-of-interest rules across all public institutions including the Ministry of Interior and police. The Commission cannot initiate criminal prosecution or impose disciplinary sanctions; it refers findings to prosecutors and competent authorities. In 2024 it signed a cooperation MoU with the Ministry of Interior to support proactive corruption investigations. No civilian-composition requirement.
