The Kamu Denetçiliği Kurumu (Public Auditing Institution / Ombudsman) of Turkey was established under Art. 74(3) of the Turkish Constitution (added by 2010 constitutional amendment) and Law 6328 of 14 June 2012. The Chief Ombudsman is elected by the Grand National Assembly for a 4-year term. The institution issues non-binding recommendations and reports annually to parliament. IOI member.
