The Alaska Ombudsman is appointed by a two-thirds vote of a joint session of the Legislature to a five-year term. The Ombudsman investigates citizen complaints about state administrative agencies and publishes reports to the Legislature. One of the oldest and strongest state ombudsman offices in the US.
