ACT Integrity Commission
Summary
The ACT Integrity Commission was established by the Integrity Commission Act 2018 and became operational in 2019. The Chief Commissioner is appointed by the ACT Executive on the recommendation of the Legislative Assembly to a 5-year non-renewable term. The Commission investigates corrupt conduct by ACT public officials and can hold public or private hearings with full coercive powers including the ability to compel testimony and production of documents. It is overseen by the Assembly's Standing Committee on Justice and Community Safety. Reports are presented to the Legislative Assembly.
